I'm going to a high school friend's wedding.

I need to feel comfortable because it's a social situation that's NOT very comfortable. (Not so bad that I'm not going, but I need to look good & be cool).

The outfit I'm wearing is beautiful, I'm happy with the way I'm looking (physically) right now, so no concerns there.

Ok. Here are the details:

I'm 5'8", slim build. My hair will be up.

The top has a low neck, very short sleeves, it's silk. A pinky-rose colour, looks good on me, Not too frilly but very pretty.

The top goes with the skirt PERFECTLY (took a long time to find let me tell you!).

The skirt is also silk, and it goes from being dark brown at the top to being cream/ivory at the bottom, with pinky rose accents. The dyeing on the skirt is beautiful, really blends and incorporates the whole outfit together.

The skirt goes to my knees, it's not big & pouffy, just hangs there looking elegant.

Boots? Shoes? Colour?

It's apt to be snowy so closed toes, no sandals for sure. A bit of a heel is fine, but not more than an inch or two at the most or I'll be taller than my date (hubby).

Thanks so much! I'll pick the best answer once I've gotten enough to choose from (about a dozen at least I think!)

Its too bad you can't go with a nice strappy sandal, as that seems ideal. Pumps are a good alternate, but I would stay away from boots. They are going to look too structured with your flowy outfit. Go with pumps in the same shade as the darkest color in the skirt.

I would go with a kitten heel - it's a small enough heel that you won't be taller than your hubby, but heels at a formal event are elegant.

Do a close toed shoe because of the snow, in a shade of ivory, the pinky rose color, or brown. Any of those three colors sound like they will bring your outfit together.

I don't know about boots at a formal event, especially with silk, Silk outfits need a tiny feminine heel, especially at a wedding.

Zappos has a really good selection of shoes - see if you can get some ideas from there.

The outfit is feminine and flirty, so your shoes should be delicate, not boots or chunk heels. Since I assume you will be wearing a nude colored hose, I am basing my suggestions on that.
Either match the bottom of the dress (cream/ivory) or the rosy pink of the shirt and accents. The pink would be more feminine and flirty keeping with the style of the outfit, while the cream would be more simple and elegant. I would go with the pink, but that's just me :-)
For style, try a sling back or ankle strap. Since a sandal is out, either of those would keep the flirty look you've got with the top and skirt. Or just stick with a basic pump with some added detailing on them to dress them up a bit.

Try those heeled shoes that strap around the ankle for the sexy feminine look, they're closed toe ones. The heel is feminine, but wide, great for support. Not those clunky ones. Naturalizers has some cute ones. Or if you want look at Zappos.com
