I'm not sure if I used the correct terminology. I want to buy a certificate that identifies me as the creator of a software program I will try to sell publicly. I think Verisign sells them and probably other companies, too.

Why don't you go straight to the source and check Verisign's web site?? I don't have time, but I think Verisign charges around $700.

You can get a better price from other issuers. Also check Thawte. I don't think I'd go with anyone but Verisign or Thawte. You get what you pay for.

It depends WHAT and exactly HOW GOOD it is.
I'd just say it varies.
