no problem, just put a note on your door saying that you are sorry, but you don't have anymore candy.

I don't celebrate it either since I am a Christian, but what I do is put a bible verse ( like John 3:16) on each piece of candy & tape it to it before handing it out.

You could always have a HARVEST party w/ your close friends & if there is a nearby farm go on a hayride
during the day.

hope these tips help & take care

Turn off your porch light, rent some movies and watch them with the lights off. I dont "celebrate" Halloween either but I do let my kids dress up and go to Church functions on Halloween where they hand out candy... if I did take them trick or treating, I wouldnt allow them to go up to a house with no lights. I dont know about the sign thing, I knew kids that would egg a house that wouldnt hand out candy.. and even with the sign there will be kids that dont see or take the time to read it.

You can go to the movies, or to a friend's house.
You can watch TV or put in a VCR or DVD.
You can listen to music.
You can read or do your homework.
You can pray.

Are you a Christian? Even if you don't believe in Halloween, you can still use this day to your advantage. Go today or very early tomorrow to a Christian bookstores and buy some friendly tracts that you can pass out to trick-or-treaters who come to your door. And yes, please include a piece of candy or a penny or nickel or dime with the tract; you don't want to appear as if Christians are cheap.

Keep your porch light off. The tradition is that kids go door to door to the places with lights on. Also, a small note on the door, informing people that you are not distributing candy.

I heard that the trick -or- treaters should only knock at door's/house's with the porch lights on. I'm like you, I don't do Halloween either. so, if they knock at mine I just will not open the door.

Simple...turn off the outside light so no one will come knocking, make some food, pop in a DVD and relax. Or, invite over some friends who don't do Halloween either and do something fun together.

Turn off all your outside lights so that the front of your house are dark. Pull the drapes so that light from your living room or family doesn't show through.

Don't answer the doorbell.

Trick or Treaters should only go to houses that have lights on.

Your family should not display Halloween decorations. Keep the lights off as soon as possible and go to sleep or watch TV.
