Why do people try to make you jealous by continuously mentioning how much they make? how do i shut them up!?
Tired of this girl talking about how much she makes and trying to make me feel lower than her...as if i dont have a good job! She talks to me like I know nothing about the business world! I hate it. Not to mention, she is talking to a guy that i was previously talking to. I think she is trying everything in her power to make me jealous. She will never make me jealous, but she is getting under my skin.
I dont care about how much she makes. But I also dont want her to think that I am ignorant to how to get jobs....high paying jobs etc.....I make a good amount of money, and i want to blurt it out so bad to make her feel stupid! but I was taught to be humble and not to do those things.

Unfortunately people like that will never change. It is their way of making themselves feel better, by letting you know that they make a better living than you do. I have worked with many of these people, and they will never shut up. If she is only talking about that it means that she doesn't really have anything else going on in her life and she needs to compensate for it. To get her off your back let her know something that you have in your life that she is missing and she should leave you alone after that. Nothing makes that type of person feel bad like you not caring about their pay and letting them know what you have that they don't!

the sad thing about people like her is that she might have money, but she still isn't happy. If she was she wouldn't need to try to drag anyone down. Try to have sympathy for her that she can't see that and probably never will be truly happy. The things in this life that do bring happiness have nothing to do with bank accounts. Stay strong, and be proud of yourself for already having that important life lesson under your belt.

Then tell her "I dont care about how much you make." I have a good paying job and even though it doesnt pay as much as yours, im proud of it because its mine.
In a nice, soft voice of course.

It's really easy. Just say, "Oh, that's ALL you make? I thought you'd be making a lot more." She'll be so shocked by your bold statement, she won't be able to say anything more.
Do yourself a favor and stay away from her - her negative aura is not healthy to be around.

Tell them, "I find salary something extremely personal, and not something I would be willing to share. Can you practice a little more discretion on your end as well? It's the professional thing to do."

Tell her the amount of money a person makes doesn't make the person a better person it just makes them blabber mouth.

I think the best thing you could do is STOP HANGING AROUND THAT GIRL. She's obviously an insecure loser. Be the bigger person and find someone else to be friends with, she's no friend of yours.
