it will not read or reconize that a cd has been put in and after some spining spits it out, but it plays dvds fine.........please please help me fix this as can get no help from Mac online, or on the phone or in there shops thanks m

If cleaning the lens doesn't help, get a new drive. (I'm assuming you can do that for Macs... dont have any experience with them to be honest.) Its not unusual for optical drives to malfunction. I use mine pretty heavily, and average around a drive every 8-12 months. They're pretty cheap these days, so I dont really worry about it.

go to walmart and buy a lens cleaner about 8 bucks and run it then try a cd again
