I've got Renault Megane & when I try to put my window down I can hear a scraching noise. Do u know wot it could b and how 2 fix it?

it sounds like your window is off the rail drop it to a car glaze place if u like they ill fix it r if your handy pull off ur inside door panel and fix it yourself . when u take the panel off lower n higher ur window ull see the rail makesure the window is in the rail grips u might need some window seal to keep it in

It could be dirt sticking between the glass and the rubber seal or more than likely, its the window regulator itself. The little plastic bushing could either be off the runner or worn through giving you a metal on metal sound. You are going to have to remove the door trim and have a look. Its not an easy job and unless you have done this before, i would leave it to a mechanic as its quite easy to break the door trim, switches, etc. Try squirting a little WD40 or similar down the window rubber to lubricate it.

You have dirt or grit caught in the window rubbers.

Clean them out with a wet cloth. get right inside the rubbers and seals and scrape out any dirt or dust. Wait for the seals to dry, and then spray liberally with a 'dry' lubricant such as silicone spray.

This should cure the problem. In extreme cases, the dirt and grit can actually scratch your window glass, so do it sooner rather than later.

It'll be grit thats got underneath the rubber trim, roll your window down and run a damp cloth on the inside of the trim.

could be grit in your trim. drop the window and go around seal with a lolly stick or anything thats not sharp.
