First you need to know what exactly you are afraid of. Are you afraid of the actual interview process? Are you afraid to meet new people? Are you afraid of saying something that might sound stupid to you?

Once you have answered this question - then your goal is to get over this fear. For example - if you are afraid of the interview process, which can be very intimidating to alot of people, you could go on 'test' interviews. Or jobs, you are not interested in, but get an interview just to get yourself comfortable with the whole interview process. Once, you know what kind of questions they ask, then you'll be less afraid of what might happen.

I was the same as you, very shy and not very social, still am to this day, but I made it through the whole 'getting a job' process and you can to! You can do it, just try and try again until you succeed!

Good Luck!

If you think he's gonna refuse, he will. This may not be comforting but your horse senses your fear and emotions. So if your unsure about that jump, so is he. He looks up to you for guidance and wants you to be sure about what your doing because your asking him to do it. Maybe start at lower jumps until your completely comfortable on them and slowly work your way up. You may be pushing yourself too much. That can sometimes happen if you develop a fear. Then you should just start simple and work your way up. This reassures your horse as well. Remember, you two are a team. You have to work together as one. If one doesn't agree, its not going to go over well. If your still not comfortable, get an instructor to talk you through the tough parts Goodluck !

Perhaps you need to start out in a part time job until you get used to working. Maybe a small company, or working at a family owned place.. something simple, then move on to the big things. But you will have to face your fear sooner or later.

Do like most people do: hit up www.craigslist.com and see if there are job postings online. Therefor the screening process is all you have to worry about. Hit up monster.com or craigslist.com for work and hope a resume sells you as the ideal employee. Also professional resume builders offer to soup up your skills and expiereiences so that suddenly your fast food management is "restraunt management". Good luck (and the job market sucks!)

Keep in mind that you live your life and you dont have to be afraid of people laughing at you for whatsoever you do.
You only meet those people as part of your life and there should be no reason for anyone to stop you from what U wanna do. Its yo life, control it, dont let anyone make a fence or boundary.
I used to be shy and my friend told me that if Im afraid of people, then I only would loose myself and receive disadvantage. She was right,
