because they feel it makes themselves cute by announcing their bodily functions. Its also a pychological thing, females announce they have to use the restroom to see if others share the same urges. Its also an example of wanting acceptance. read it in psyc class

I know guys who will say when they have to go. Everyone pees, I don't see a big deal. When people start talking in detail about their bodily functions, however, my reaction is "whoa there buddy, I am not your doctor."

My husband does that all the time! Anytime he needs to use the bathroom he'll let everyone know. It's by far not a female thing.

I dont know why...but that is one of my biggest pet peeves at work. I hate that...must I and everyone else know what you/they need to do in the bathroom? If ever I must tell someone where I am going I say...Im going to the loo. I believe it is a lack of class, and social skills!
