Is it best to sell on ebay or see a dealer.

If you don't get anywhere with a dealer or EBay you would need to find a Auction which specialises in Train memorabilia, remember with both you do have to pay fees, also have a look on eBay and see if anyones selling similar, watch what prices roughly pay, but remember it takes two people who make an auction and if they get "the Fever" you could be laughing all the way to the bank

Good Luck

Ebay all the way.

I had an old Hornby train set, went to a dealer, he offered me £50. Sold it on ebay for £110.

I would advise you go to the dealer first though as they may be able to tell you a bit about the set and you could use the price they quote as a reserve for e-bay.

Davids right, go to a dealer to get a rough idea what they'll offer, then add 20% to that total and thats roughly what you can expect to get off e-bay. Have a look at hornby's website, they have an e-bay like auction and if you have anything thats worth snapping up you're more likely to get someone on there that'll be prepared to pay a decent price for it.

Sell it bit by bit on ebay, that way you will get a fair price cos a dealer has to make a profit on top of what he will pay you for it.

On the book they sell on this site http://www.goobypls.com/r/rd.asp?gid=416 you'll find a great step by step guide about train models and about how to plan and build a model railroad. I'm not a beginner but it helped me a lot. Check it out.

Try selling it privately first then use ebay but make sure to put a reserve on it.
