If another country invaded the US and overthrew the government, would you fight them? Would you take up arms and fight against them to get ride of them? Would it change if you didn't particularily like the current government?
Did you answer yes? Does that mean you sympathize with the insurgency in Iraq? Or is it different?

I understand that there are a lot of differences between the US and pre-war Iraq. But you have to admit, you would be a little angry if another country invaded, even if you welcome the change. No matter what, it is still another country occupying yours. It is just interesting to try and see it from another perspective.

Yes, I would fight them, Iraq is different as they are killing our people. But if I was an Iraqi I would feel a whole differant way I bet. I would think that I would consider myself a freedom fighter.

I would fight if the US was invaded because I am invested in defending democracy. There was no democracy in Iraq before we invaded. (Of course, there isn't democracy in Iraq now either. But who knows how the war will end?)
I don't sympathize with the insurgents. I sympathize with the Iraqis who, in the midst of tremendous odds, are trying to rebuild their country

Yes I would do what I could to fight off an invading army.
The situaion in Iraq is not the same. The insurgency is against the elected governemnt in Iraq and their own police and army.
We would certainly leave if the insurgency chilled out and the Iraqi gov. forces could stand on their own.
What's odd is that the more they fight, the longer we'll be there. If they were smart, they'd stop, we'd leave and they could do whatever they wanted.

YES, but it ain't going to happen and as for the Iraqi situation, that is different, because there are outside forces, known as terrorists
who do not want Iraq to have a elected government and to have a democracy because that would cause people in other countries such as Iran, Syria and Saudi Arabia to rise up against those governments because they are oppressive and people want freedom, do you understand this????????????????

I think you make your point. Invaders seldom make things better for the invaded. Hans Blix says the situation in Iraq for MOST of the people is WORSE than under Saddam. Perhaps the exception was the allied invasion of Germany knocking off Hitler. As for the USA now, although the situation is bad, for the most cases I would fight. At least I would be VERY choosy about WHICH invader I would welcome. In some alternate universe. if you know what I mean, Canada invades the USA and THAT would be a moral dilemma for me.

I would fight for my country.
The Iraqis ARE fighting for their country, against the terrorists blowing them up. We are helping the Iraqis.
We toppled the governments of Germany and Japan, and I'm glad we did.
PS I'd like to turn your question on its head. What message are we sending to our enemies if we withdraw from Iraq? Do you think it will send the message that we ARE willing to follow through, or that we are NOT? Do you think it will make future attacks less likely, or more?

It would be from patriotism rather than from a lack of patriotism as is witnessed in Iraq. These people have a chance to build a new Iraq, but they choose not to.

I would fight against any country, but i wouldn't say i sympathize with the Iraqies. They are trying to kill Americans not just because they are there but because they are American, they hate our country and any country that doens't have the same believes as them,

If I did not like the govt, and it was killing its own people, and some other country came into here and overthrew the govt, I would rejoice. I would help keep my new country free of opression
