i know I'll probably get a lot of thumbs down for this but here goes... the US has been playing the middle east since the end of WW II. we've been moving the pieces to keep the region unstable and to keep a foothold in/on the area. it's good for oil business and until oil is no longer our primary energy source you won't see the US out of that area.. the US trained bin laden and put Saddam in power also... don't get me wrong.. i love the US and wouldn't want to live anywhere else (well.. maybe some tropical beach.. but that has nothing to do with politics) but that doesn't mean we don't have a pock mark here and there .... no people and no nation is perfect.. and sometimes Americans forget that being "the best" doesn't mean we can't be better... and in my opinion we have a lot of improving left to do.

Your alt spelling hasn't caught on, as I've never seen it before.
The US government overthrew Mossadegh because the Brits came to us and said if we did so, we'd get half the oil.
That's why.

In short the "democratic" government that Mossadegh founded was not strong enough to ensure it would not be overtaken by the USSR or other enemies in the area, and to ensure solidarity against the communist threat, the monarchy was reinstated.

Hey - our governemnt lied to us and told us that our soldiers would "be greeted as liberators". Instead, our soldiers are nothing more than target practice for the insane insurgents. Why do you think the polls show, overwhelmingly, that Americans want our soldiers out of the crosshairs NOW? Fight your own civil war. If Iraqis want to keep slaughtering each other, it's none of our business.
All these deaths, for what? O-I-L. Money. Shameful.

Why are you so anti-American? I don't go asking them questions about their leaders just because something happened that I don't like. You live your life and I'll live mine. Thanks.
