I would say a 5 for me. My husband is my best friend, confidante, lover, basically my everything. This is my second marriage, I was divorced a few years ago from my first husband. That marriage I tried to make a 5, but we were so different. We were married when I was 23 and he was 24, we grew and changed so much over the next few years. We never had open communication, the most important thing I believe you need to have and we also had different religious beliefs. This time around my honey and I NEVER hold a grudge, we talk all the time, share our thoughts and fears, when one of us does something the other one does not like, we discuss it like adults. We also never go to bed mad, we always say I love you and treat each other respect. We also have the same religious beliefs, and trust me having a faith based foundation makes a world of difference. My marriage is extremely important, I know that him and I as a team can make it through anything and help each other fulfill our dreams :-)

I would have to say 10. My husband is my world, and I am his. We are so close. Marriage to some people is like a job. I don't understand how people give it such a bad name. Like, oh your life is over when you get married. I feel just the opposite. I feel like I have never lived as much, SINCE I got married. It is wonderful. We have been together for 8 years. It only gets better. Not everyone takes it seriously though. If you just take take take, then of course. But if you give and take, it works nicely. It isn't hard to make things work if you really want them to.

I'd have to give it a 5 because My husband and I just got married less than 6 months ago and he is the reason why I wake up. I do have a child and he is just as important but if you want to grow old w/ your spouse than that should be a priority.

In a scale from one to five. I would pick five... Marriage should be taken seriously.. It is a committment that you made to another person. Of love and devotion.

People take marriage for granted. They get married for all the wrong reasons and they give up. That is why there are so many divorces now.....

For a successful family relationship a 5, on an individual basis a 3.
