Maybe she thinks youre spending so much time with him that youre neglecting your schoolwork. Iif he is that important to you you will prove it by improving your grade.

How old are you? If your grades are suffering your mom is probably worried that your thinking about your boyfriend as opposed to paying attention in class. If thats true, you might want to talk to your BF and explain the situation and say you need a break, if he understands then no worries, just try harder and pull your grades up, if he doesn't then its for the best.
I know it may be hard to understand where your mom is coming from, but she wants you to concentrate on your studies, not on boys. Boys will always be around and you're young so if it comes to the point where you have to decide between boys and school, choose school because it will take you farther in life.

Tell your mom how you feel about him. Negotiate with her an alternative discipline for your poor grade. (ie: no dates for the next month) If the reason she wants you to break up with him is because he takes you away from getting good grades, she's right, you need to be able to juggle your time better. You can love him and still find a way to study and get better grades.

If you cared about him THAT much you would've worked harder to keep good grades j/k. Seriously, tell him you should take a break until your grades build back up.

Mom says break up. Then you break up. You probably don't want to hear that. Do your homework, and your grade will get better

no but if your "grades" continue to fall i would listen to your mum's advise by breaking up with him but remaining friends. Boyfriends come and go and at this stage of your life your education is far more important

The answer seems pretty simple to me--get a C- or better in algebra.

Work your *** off.
The reason she wanted at least a C is that she wanted to make sure you werent letting your bf interfere with your education. Now you have.
