You can start on State street for shopping and then go to Miller's Pub near Wabash and Adams for drinks and food. Then head north up Michigan Ave. for more shopping (there are stores all along the street). After you're done, go the the south side of the John Hancock building and take the elevator up to the Signature Room for drinks and a great view (skip that overpriced skydeck stuff). Come back down and walk west about two or three blocks and you'll be in the Rush Street area. There's Jilly's, Carmine's, Gibsons, etc. a bunch of places to drink. Knock yourselves out...well, not literally

serious shoppers...then just stick with michigan ave. with all the stores and the water tower and the buildings with the stores and stuff. you will do a lot of shopping and get really tired. and then you can get some drinks all around downtown area after the shopping. but i personally think the bars and stuff are all over state st. state and grand has a place called rock bottom and they brew their own beer and it's good stuff and good food. and if you just keep walking all over state st. you're bound to run into a lot of bars and restaurants. check out metromix.com...it should help you for your trip. hope you have fun!
