good question, no , its not easier, just as we age, we see and understand things better, we don't need superficial quick fixes, and for respect of others, that truly has to be earned, I see so much good in others, in fact , even before ther realize it, and when I see ot hear someone with no principals it just breaks my heart

I think age gives us wisdom along w/the "what can I do" attitude. By the time your older and wiser it is too much hassle to give all the energy to hating others. You learn to love and respect those in your life more than when your younger and feel you can change the world. By now you realize the world has been changing you all along.
Age comes with tolerance and the ability to look at things and people from another perspective. Just too tired to do much.

As I've gotten older, my understanding of myself has greatly increased while my perplexity at the quirks of human nature has also increased. People have gotten on my nerves until all I have left is one very tiny single nerve, so now I tell people not to get on my Nerve as it's the only one I have left. It's easier not to be so opinionated or stuck on myself, while at the same time I expect more from everyone myself included. I guess it's my feeling of living on borrowed time not only for me, but for all of us and I just can't understand why we can't seem to be able to listen to one another. Anyway if you can look for good in someone, do it but with open eyes and ears and always, always, always use the brain that you were given.

I think it is because you learn the importance of being tolerant and that a lot of things that you think matters when you are younger just aren't that big a deal. It's a different kind of respect. you also learn that to get respect you have to give it. It's not a given, it has to be earned.

I've always loved people with my whole heart, but not necessarily respected them(dunno if that makes sense), so as far as the respect is concerned, yes it is easier as I get older :)

I think you develop a better knack for getting to know people better. You have been there and done that and know what traits you are looking for, so I believe it is easier.
