I just started my own recording label, and i'm thinking of ways to perfect my art. Can anyone tell me the recipe for a great rapper? I know one: hardwork!

Its all about talent in my home my husband has a little studio where people record demos and there some people that can rhyme, have rythyme, can catch the beat, but they dont make since. then there are others that have great talent and would become stars. Just believe in your self and find a good producer. I write myself and working on recording. Dont write a bunch stuff just because it rhymes actually think about it and let it make sense.

Also the HOOK you have to have a good HOOK because that is what atracts people.

The beat has to be tight your it wont work out

Being different. I mean....really different. You need a strong, and distinctive voice. Something I can identify immediately.

You need some awesome, professional production and some original beats. Great mixdown and post-production. Make sure you are recording in a state of the art studio and working with a knowledgeable engineer.

You need some bangin' beats. No copies of Timbaland, Pharrell, Swizz Beats, any of those guys.....create your own dope sound.

And own it! The key is confidence and swagger....NOT to be confused with ARROGANCE.

Good luck!

You have to bring something to the game that no one else has. You just can't come at us with the same thing that everyone else is. It has to be something unique about you. Rap about stuff that your audience cares about. I hate those rappers who rap about big houses, big cars and pretty girls (when their fans are in the ghetto riding the city bus, living in a two room shack with an ugly girl). Be real. I am a BIG rap fan. Just be you and you can make it. Good luck, I hope to be listening to you soon! O yeah and all of those idiots above me talking all that smack can kiss the rap game's ***!

let me tell you the secret........... of course you need great writing abilities, you need rapping talent, but the thing that you need that is most important is good beats. You can have the best talent in the world but if you dont have a good beat that will make people want to listen to your music, then they never will

The ability to think up rhymes and later repeat them to an electronically created beat.
The ability to appear dangerous/gangsta/extreme while not actually being shot.
Looking really good with a gold chain.

To have lived through your speakings...Keeping it on the real....I feel the things of which I can relate too, so real live stories are what's happening.
