Personally, I can't stand Bohemian Rhapsody.....awful pompous overlong meaningless seventies rock.
Hard to say what the best guitar solo is but these would appear:
Comfotably Numb - Pink Floyd
Still in love with you - Thin Lizzy
Still got the Blues for you - Gary Moore
Whole Lotta Rosie - AC/DC
Star Spangled Banner - Jimi Hendrix
Immigrant Song - Led Zeppelin

Obviously you haven't heard of Shine on your Crazy Diamond. Dave Gilmore wipes the floor of Bohemian Rhapsody. If you want shivers please listen to it not only the vest Guitar Solo but the best intro to a song. You might as well give me the pints now.

Has to be the one with Brian May where he was on top of buck house a few years ago to celebrate the Golden Jubilee. That must have be one which I will remember for a long time yet.
My dads would have to be Shock Me by Ace Frehley from Kiss. Because it last for over 5 minutes long. It has 3 guitar solos in it.

Everyone here has forgotten the definitive solo of all time. Stairway To Heaven by the mighty Led Zep. Still gives me goosebumps after all this time. Still can't play it!

"Zap" by Eric Johnson.
The whole thing is basically a solo. Listen to it from his "Live in Texas" CD, it's just incredible!
Basically all of his works have solos in them somewhere in some form except for a few scarce songs from his first couple of album from back in the late 80's.

you have to look at one of the masters, take your pick out of slash's back cataloge, november rain is a nerve tingler, although i have to say that i think that his guest guitarist on Elan's song 'street child' is up there with the best... if you don't get tingles listening to that .. then you're not human.... really emotive notes and feel to it...... have a look for it on youtube.com, it's a long song but the solo is well worth the wait......
