I just got through doing a study aboad summer program to UCC (University of College Cork) and I'm not sure what in the world you mean by arrangement of parties. Perhaps you assumming that the Irish are always at the local pubs? Well if that is the case your sort of right and sorta not.

Yes there are more Irish alcoholics, yet they don't always spend all of their time arranging parties to the local pub!

If you decided to participate in a Irish study abroad program, such as those offered at UCC you will find youself in nice apartment accomodations that are off campus and yes there are usually plenty of field trips to keep you busy. I went for a whole month and I must have gone on seven or eight field trips during that time. It was all good, all worth it. There were even plenty of opportunities to party with friends, if that is what you desire.

At UCC there is a travel agency right on campus so that you can book trips to wherever you want to go. There is also the bus that will take you to different places in Ireland. All you have to do is pay for the ticket, wait for the right bus, and hop aboard.

If your a student at a college and want to study abroad I would check out the study aboard programs through the study abroad office to see what is available.

The American College Dublin arranges an optional trip to Italy or a tour throughout Ireland.
