As MAD Magazine pointed out on its cover for the March issue, this was the first "upside-up" year—i.e., one that looked the same upside down—since 1881, and the last until 6009.

You can look at it upside down and it still read 1961! It sort of happened in 2002, but it wont happen again until 6009, a wee while!

The year looks the same upside-down.
The "won't happen again for over 4000 years" part is not totally right:
2002, 2112, 2222, 2552, 2692, 2962, 5005, 5115, 5555, 5695, 5965 will all look the same upside-down in digital.
