Taxes are always high in a socialist government. They are renown for high taxes and high spending (not always on the right things) Taxes are a way of controlling people; making new laws are another - the number of new laws issued by this government is truly astonishing. Now we are faced by further taxes under the guise of "save the environment", pure, bloody, poppycock.I feel that freedom is slowly being strangled in this country by seemingly high minded bigots.

So don't get your hopes up - someone has to pay for the environment, for the war in Iraq, for helping Africa with fighting poverty and AIDS and many many other things...

I'm with you... but people will never rise up against it, it's too easy just to accept it and carry on like with everything else. They hit the masses as it's easy for them. Two things in life you can't escape and that's death and tax unfortunately!

Blair is following the American model - take payments from the rich and industry, tax the living daylights out of the people who can least afford it, give tax concessions and handouts to the rich and industry.

Just keep voting them out, that's your right, but make sure you vote smart!
