Heck, no! Halloween is the perfect time to be what you want to be! Go for it, Prom Queen!
On Halloween you could be the Ruler of the Universe if you want (unless you consider that blasphemous). Just remember that it's only for one night, or one season.

Do you mean prideful as in too proud and vain? I think a prom queen, princess, or anything like this are traditional costumes.
Or do you mean some weird gay pride thing??
