If you buy a ps2 now, you have access to a complete range of games. There are huge range of games at least half price of what they were. The PS2 sells for a super cheap price at the moment.

The PS3 will cost lot at release (as everything else) but it will come down. On the upside, the PS3 plays PS2 and PS1 games, so if you save for a PS3 you'll still be able to buy the super cheap games.

Really it all comes down to what you want. If you're on a budget, get the PS2, if you can hold out, get a PS3.

I'd say no, I don't believe that backward comptability with psone games has been confirmed. Not only that the PS3 is already four months behind schedule in the UK. And they dont have enough to meet demand in Japan and the US. This means therewont be many to spare even after release. Not only that launch games are never all that anyway, so you wont be missing out on much till next christmas. Which hopefully by then the price will have dropped by around about £100, almost the same as a ps2 currently costs .....

Well if PS3 has the capability of the PS2 then yes it would be a waste of money because the PS3 would be able to play PS2 AND PS3 games

(also: i think u should scrap the idea of PS3 and buy an XBOX 360 instead (Bill Gates will get the good games cos the amount of money he has 2 bribe the software companies with))

That depends, do you want to buy PS3? If you have the cash to buy them both go ahead! I think PS2 is better, since it's smaller and it has a heap of different games that you can buy for half of it's original price. But it's you call.

wait a year at least(after launch) for ps3, buy an xbox 360.
ps3 wont have very many good games for alittle while and is still on the expensive side.
