Like, when someone is unfairly shouted at or treated with some prejudice, does it make you feel angry for the victim? Do you tend to feel sorry for the victim?

This happens to me a lot of times, and I'm worried that something could be abnormal about me.

It is good to be sensitive to your own feelings and others. The situation you have expressed gives me the feeling that i can be feeling both. Angry in a good way because the victim is taking the unfairly treatment and not doing anything about it. And i feel sorry for the victim for the state in which our world functions. If i have the capacity to confront or support for the right reasons i stand up for it and do somethig about it. Because things happen in our surrounding for a reason, it is a message, a point of change, and a point of growth. What the situation means to us is the meaning we give to ourselves based on who and what we are.
It is useless to feel sorry or sad and do nothig about it. Sometimes we give courage to the victim and this could teach them to be assertive.
Eventually everything depends on who and what we are. Hope i have answered your question.

Well, I think you have a point there. Sometimes I feel bad for somebody else at times, But thats just because I have compassion. Allthough on the other end of the spectrum If every one else cared soley for them like as if there were there family or sompthing I dont think the world would be able to function properly. So dont let it get to out of hand. Hope this helps.

No there is nothing abnormal about you. If nobody cared about others without any benefit to themselves, there would be no civil rights, the holocaust would still be going on, and you would be one of the jerks treating others like crap.

It is sad the in the year 2006 that somebody actually has to question why they have human feelings.

yeah, I can be like that. Actually there are personalities that over sympathize with others. What is eventually does is wear you out emotionally. I used to let other peoples problems burden me so much that I would feel sick.

What helped me? Probably going to alanon.

You aren't abnormal, but you do need to get more balanced in how you suffer for other people.

Remember you can't control, you didn't cause and you can't fix other peoples issues.

it's called "empathy" and it's a good thing.

but you have to realize that life isn't fair. innocents get abused, and the guilty get off scot-free, every day. you can't expect the world to conform to your ideals of right and wrong.

what happens, happens, and that's life. in other words, don't worry about your feelings for others, but don't obsess.

Unfairness makes me angry. But it is part of life, you, me and other people need to deal with it. Because we cannot change it, and we will experience it, as long as we live.
Feelings sorry for yourself or other is negative, you need to accept it, and learn from it, as others need to.
