Try the ghost stories M R James - there's definitely one called something like The Haunted Doll's House, and several are to do with ordinary things (in one case it's a piece of material) which turn out to have supernatural consequences.
You can find them for free on the Project Guttenberg website and they are damn scary

Don't Ask Jack by Neil Gaiman is about an evil jack-in-the-box
and
The Monkey by Stephen King which is about a possesed toy monkey
are the two possesed toy stories I can think of.

The Beast Within (ISBN: 0425052222) by Edward Levy
The Beast Within was one of the first, and creepiest, novels I have ever read. I snuck it form my sister’s book club collection when I was about 13 and I think I read it in two days. I have never seen anything else like it.
It is basically a man-turns-to-beast story (similar to the werewolf and Dracula ideas) but with a much more, what I would call, intimate twist.
