i know radiation and evaporation are similar since both are 2 ways skin help get rid of body heat so it's either absorption or conduction, i think.

1. It's "nails" which is not a part of the skin.
2. I think that you are right and "absorption" is not a way for the skin to get rid of its heat (cool off).

1. stratum basale since the rest are exposed parts of the skin and are involved in protecting the organism
2. absorption. it's not a function of the skin.
