Even the ONE white leader who was making steps to aide the black community in properly getting on their feet to make the playing fields equal, JFK, was assassinated. Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Medgar Evers...all had the obvious power to sway the people, get them to listen and follow, and eventually change for the betterment of themselves, but all were gunned down before they could make any serious affects. Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson Jr and Sr are alright politcians, but no where near the leader potential of the formerly mentioned men. Why does no one attempt to take their lives? Just coincidence? Even revolutionary singers with the ability to unite blacks and make them pay attention to what is really going on socially around them die mysteriously (Bob Marley). Incidentally, the FBI and CIA kept records of all activity, personal and business, by Malcolm X, MLK, and Bob Marly, all under the the same guise that they could incite riots amongst blacks. All coincidence?

Yes, I don't know if I would include JFK. He just got blacks to vote for him. When blacks asked for help in the south, he refused on the base that no laws were being violated, but when blacks started fighting back in Alabama, he sent troops immediately with no laws being violated. Malcolm X is the greatest leader for American blacks. I think that even now, there is not enough about Malcolm in history books. People fear change and that is why, I think, that so many have been assassinated. In slavery times, whites did not want an educated black, I wouldn't doubt that during the turbulent 60's and 70's that that was not the case. Now, you have drugs and a ridiculous media to keep people from being educated or interested in knowledge. So much I want to say, but I don't want to type anymore.
Malcolm was actually assassinated because of his knowledge of Elijah Mohammad's affairs with his young assistants which he learned from Elijah's son, Wallace. The movie was not 100% accurate, I suggest reading the autobiography.

Like you even have to ask? This country was founded by the rich white elite, on the labor of slaves, inmates and "indentured" servants. The whole economy rests on the backs of the working class and poor. MLK had to die, for he had the best potential to be a black president. The rest, is SOP in the USG. The rich white folk all fear that should a smart minority take the helm, a true War On Povery (like the one MLK was working on) would come about, and the majority in America would take the power from the rich, elite minority.
Politics, like racism, sexism, homophobia, flag burning, war, etc.. are distractions to keep us from amassing and creating a true democracy out of the sanitized, castrated American version of same.

Well, let me say that racism is real and alive even today! I hate it! I'm white I grew up in an environment in which I was taught to hate people because of the color of their skin. With me it had an opposite affect. I began to question authority you know? Why? I dunno why! So I just said this is bullshit man! I know of several black people who would give me the shirt off their back! As for the assisnations. Well I hate to say it, but I kinda wonder if people are afraid of minorities taken over or somethin you know? Some of these men paid the ultimate sacrifice for freedom and equal rights! Just like why have we never had a black president? Because blacks don't have the capability of being good presidents? bull ****! I mean we are all the same! I know of alot of black polititians that would make good presidents! If you where born in this country, you are an American! Skin color is irrelavant to what makes a good person and a good leader! Its about equality! Thats what we are! We are all the same!

Your consiperency theory is wrong. I will name some great Black people who are alive today that have a lot of influence.
Condi Rice
Colin Powell
Mr. Obama
Sidney Poiter
Charlie Pride
And that is just a few, there has been and still are very many.
This is a question, that questions raciscm. I feel like it comes from both sides. If everyone would realize we are all in the same race, we wouldn't have as many questions like yours.
By the way I am talking about the Human Race.
Love Peace and be good.

Actually the same leaders as the rest of us, some white, some black, some other type. Hate mongers like Wright, Obama, Jackson, (un) Sharp - one, claim to speak for the Black coummunity; however they only speak for the racist part of the Black community, and make a killing off of exploiting their own race. - sad, sad, sad! I know and fellowship with many fine people that have skin that is black - I realize the disgust the hate-mongers brew, but let's be sure to remember they only represent the hate- group, and as all of us know, you can find haters in any group!

Your living in the past...those were past days when the civil rights movement was just starting and had a lot of opposition. Today we are more civilized and that is not the case. There are many great and respected black leaders in our communities. By writing these things and asking questions like this, you are not helping the civil right movements at all, you are just helping make the gap wider. Grow up and live in the world today!

It's not just about uniting blacks. It's about doing any good for human kind. Evil, powerful people and organizations see a charismatic leader who is making too many strides to empower the middle-class and/or the poor so they kill them. It's all about power. The rich and powerful cling to it, they can never get enough. They can't share even a small amount of wealth/power with others.

JFK was killed because his dad, being a mobster, made deals with the Italians to help him get into office. Those deals were broken.
Malcolm X was killed by Elijah Mohammed and the NOI because he went on Hajj and saw that Islam is not what NOI preaches. When he came back he preached real Islam and NOI killed him for it.
Medgar and MLKjr were just in turbulent times and someone didn't like the message.
Bob Marley just died, no secrets etc.

Yes it is a sad fact that the great African Americans able to actually influence the masses with their voice have been assassinated. Maybe Barack Obama will be able to change this horrible piece of history when he is elected President in 2008(Cross our fingers).

Thats because them ****** was black. If we had black presidents today each one of them ****** would get shot some how. Jessie Jackson and his dad and all the singers ain't gone get shot for awhile because right now racism isn't like it was. Saying all that you still wouldn't see my black *** running for president. The sad thing is: thats just how it is.
I apologize If i've offended you in any way, I'm just telling it like it is.
