Hi
There is two ways to remove wax from fabric.
First you will need to do is a test. To do the test put some water, about the size of a quarter on the back edge of the cushion and wipe it with a white towel and let it dry on it’s own.
If you get colour transfer onto the towel it is not safe to clean.
If there is no change in colour and no watermark then it is safe to clean or spot clean.
If there is a watermark but no colour change it is safe to clean only thing is you will need to clean the whole thing. (to stop watermarks) you can not spot clean.
1/ Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can .Use a dry clean white terrycloth place it over the wax spot then heat it with a iron on low setting( less chance of damaging the fabric). Keep checking the spot every ten seconds or so, moving the terrycloth so that a clean spot is on the fabric.
2/ Which is the better way. Use the edge of a butter knife to carefully scrape off or lift up as much solid wax as you can Heat up a full kettle of water and pour it slowly on the fabric at the same time with a wet vac vacuum up the water. Keep on doing this until the wax is removed.

I've had success by dampening the fabric & placing it in the Freezer overnight making the wax brittle enough to crumble that is if you can remove the cushion cover of course. You can also try using Butane lighter fluid which when released creates a frost & will evaporate very quickly without staining.

This works great and EVERYTIME, but since you can't put your sofa in the freezer, make an icebag and place it over the wax and let it set for a while, maybe 1/2 hour and the wax will pop right off. Good Luck!

I spilled wax on my carpet and got it out by putting a paper towel over the wax and ironing it. On the difficult spots to get to I heated the area with my blow dryer until the wax melted and dabbed the wax with a paper towel.
GOOD LUCK!!

i've heard that if you put a piece of scrap fabric on the wax, and then run an iron over it intil the wax melts, then the extra fabric will absorb the wax.
