I see many liberals on this forum claiming that all rebublicans listen to biased media like Rush and Fox News, and then repeat everything they hear without thinking or deciding for themselves.
So do each one of you actually take the time to do your own research, take polls, surveys, conduct interviews, etc?
To answer my own question, no. You are all just as guilty as conservatives of finding a media source that caters to your beliefs and then going out and blindly regurgitating what you have heard.

I think everyone's guilty of that, whether it's politics, religion, health... whatever it is, we listen most to whatever source that, as you said, caters to our own beliefs.
Which is why I find it pointless for people to argue their sides, as they usually have no clue what they are truly defending. Facts? or Media spin?

Don't know if this answers this question but I give answers as I believe to be the truth and my own beliefs. I was raised in a small conservative town with real values and morals. I am not religeous but a good and moral person who decides things on, not what I read or watch on TV but on what I feel is good and right. I take pride in being a Conservative and my ideas on liberals are people who just want to be diffrent and weaken the nation and stray from the normal way of life.

Amen, Amen, Amen!!!! However, I believe this type of mentality goes for anything connected to 'politically' natured subjects. Are there any real solutions? Would they work if we tried them? Too much speculation and not enough action on most every issue on the news, web...everywhere for that matter. It is a planet of chaos, and our own minds are the most wasted and abused natural resource...most don't even use. Just follow the masses..like cattle.

You gave a fine, intelligent, thoughtful, and accurate answer to your own question but the Liberal Democrats will never agree with you and they will not name a source because all they do is call people who disagree with them every possible vulgar name they can think of. Go ahead earn yourself 10 points for that excellent answer.

well, most of the democrats i know (though obviously i can't speak for those on here) use multiple sources and compile that information to try and form a well educated decision based on all the evidence, not just a one sided view. NPR, Television, local newspapers.. i even have access to foreign news channels that i tend to watch from time to time.

All politicians have very busy and difficult lives. We elect them because we think they're able to complete the task.

Then we all bombard them with questions on almost every topic, from God to politics to satan. Somewhere in there they are expected to cater to our every whim.

I would hate to be a politician.

No, but neither does Fox News.

Ask enough people and someone is likely to agree with you. I wish we could just agree to disagree without all the name-calling and ugliness.
