I know, this is utterly stupid of me. But I ironed some wundaweb on the carpet, and it went through and went hard. Is there anything I can use to get rid of it? Will the old brown paper trick work like it does with wax? Or is there some miracle product I can use on the stain? I live in a rented flat so I need to sort this out asap.

I would try ironing it off again. Put a damp cloth over the mark and gently iron over it. The wunda web should melt away......I hope!

Good luck!

The Brown Paper trick will work, but for Wunda Web you need WATER to help you.

If you can get the CARPET wet (under the web), the web should separate from it when you apply the iron. If the paper (or just a cotton cloth)starts out dry, the moisture from below should drive the web towards the cloth.

You could try gently teasing it off the carpet fibres with a scrubbing brush or toothbrush while it's still warm & damp, if it's not coming off on the cloth.

You can heat the iron up then place paper bag on web and iron on the bag it should take it off. Keep repeating till stain is gone
