Yes, when I was 18. My tie rod broke and I lost control of my steering and went into a ditch. My car turned over 3 times and of course was totaled. I wound up with a broke nose, and a crossed vertebrae. All things considered I was very fortunate..........:)

when I had my 87 monte carlo ss about five or six years ago, I was on my way home from work down I-70 and a stupid person decided to turn in the "emergency access only" cut thru and the semi following her locked up, jack knifed and I couldn't go to the right of himbecause of other traffic and him jack knifing, so I went around the left, hit the ditch, flew like the duke boys and landed on all four tires, broke the tie rod. The suv behind me did the same manuver, only flipped when he hit the ditch and flew over top of my car., landing upside down in front of me sliding up into the oncoming lanes of traffic. I was not wearing a seatbelt, and braced for the impact, breaking my sternum and my left elbow. Hit the windshield and cut my head. The guy in the suv was a little more worse off, I remember trying to stop his head wound from bleeding with a towel that I used as a seat cover in my car, being trained in first aid and was a CNA. When the paramedics got there, they took over on him, and sent me to the ER as well. Before I left for the ER, the cop had me see if my car would move, and I drove it out of the ditch. After the hospital released me, I got back to the car and drove the baby home. Less than a year later, in the same car, a drunk driver hit me head on and "totalled "my car. I drove home, but the insurance totalled it because it would cost too much to fix. The drunk driver got sent to the hospital, us that were in my car had no damage other than a stiff neck the next day.

yes. i totaled a BMW and two minivans. the first cop on the scene could not figure out how the accident happened. he also said my brother and i should have flew out the windshield to the train tracks below, if it wasn't for seat belts. the cop also told our parents that he wished he was there to witness the accident because it so bizarre. my brother was in the next room in the hospital getting glass removed from his eyeball- fully awake, without drugs, when the cop said that.
the accident was ruled accident because of the thick ice on the bridge. my parents said they had a hard time getting to us because the ramps and bridges were closed.
bridges DO freeze before roadways!

Yea. my sister was driving and playing with the radio at the same time. She blew through a stop sign and the car got hit and rolled over. The windshield shattered and the car was totaled. Fortunately, we walked away from the accident unscathed.

Just missed getting killed last Friday! I was #2 in a 6 car line, in white wall fog. 2 lane road. #6 decided to pull out to pass us ALL - we were only going 65 in the 65 zone - unfortunately for him, neither he nor the guy coming toward us in the other lane had their headlights on. There was an almighty huge boom and we all just kept on going.... I did dial 911, but I wasn't about to stop on that road and be the next roadkill!

Yes.
My brother was driving and despite his best efforts when we skidded on some mud we hit a tree. My seat belt gave way (it was an old car) and I head butted the dash board. My friend who was sitting behind me with no seat belt (as I say it was an old car and this is possibly why my seat belt gave way) bit through his lower lip. My brother cracked his occipital bone on the stirring wheel.
We were all very lucky. And as a consequence I've never learned to drive.

I used to own a classic '64 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu. One Thanksgiving night, I was out driving, and got hit by a drunk driver, who ran a red light. He hit me so hard, that the frame of the car was bent, and there was a hole in the door. My chin hit the steering wheel, and threw my neck completely out of line. My car was totaled, and I still have problems with my neck and shoulders.

I was hit head on by a drunk driver, my car spun all the way around twice and ended up facing the opposite of the way I was going, the drunk managed to take out 2 more cars before he ended up in someone's yard. I was the least injured out of the bunch though.

No, but I witnessed one. My hubby was driving my dad's Mustang and got hit by someone who was speeding, fishtailed into a ditch and messed up the car pretty badly. Luckily my hubby wasn't hurt, but I'd been driving my truck right behind him and saw the whole thing happen in front of me. It couldn't have been any more frightening had I actually been in the car.
