We have a 85 chey silverado with a 350 engine amd a robinson carburetter. We have rebuilt the carb (several times), the floats are ok, it's seated fine and all works well when driving in the city, however when you get on the hwys (above 65mph) it starts to choke & flood. It you let it set and go again its ok until you reach the speed again. Anyone have any thoughs or ideas on what could be the problem?

sounds like at that speed its pulling the choke closed, wire it open and see if that fixes it. if it does than there is sometihng wrong with it. or its not opening all the way when its warm and around town you dont see it but at highway speeds it shows its ugly face

There is a Filter sock inside the Gas tank. These get plugged and cause the vehicle to starve for fuel when driving at speed on the highway but allow enough fuel for around town operation. The sock can be "Blown Off" by disconnecting the rubber fuel hose where it somes out of the fuel tank, loosen the gas cap and place a air nozzle into the rubber hose going back into the tank. Give it a couple of good blast with the air. You'll hear it when it pops off.
Your local mechanic should know how to do it for you. It really is Very easy to do.
The other option would be to drop the fuel tank, pull the sending unit out and replace the sock.
It's probably not Flooding , but is actually running out of fuel to the Carburetor

Either the floats aren't OK, or you got the choke together wrong and the airflow at 65 is pulling it closed. Buy a rebuilt carb. The fact that you rebuilt it several times pretty much tells the story.
