I have low voltage wires from switch to lights (incandescent lights and my test showed AC current of 120v). But there is a relay in the box. There is power on the "white" wire and the "black" wire has nothing. The black wire goes into the relay and out to light. When I turn switch on, relay clicks but no lights turn on. I don't know what to do. Also, Please explain what is the purpose of that relay there.

It sounds like you have bad high voltage contacts in the relay. Replace the relay and the light should work.

This type of system was designed to allow the installation of low voltage wires for switches in multiple places to operate the light instead of more complicated wiring and switches such as a three way system or a four way system with high voltage wires that require extra wires between switches and between the switches and the fixture.

Bad relay points inside >replace ----Low voltage power sounds ok since its clicking shut -- Check the breaker for the 110v used on this light -- Have you inspected the light socket, or the light bulb itself. The relay is operated by a lower voltage(12-24volts) to control a larger power output source.

These relays are for swithing a higher voltage using a lower voltage to do it. I can not help you with the wiring as I can not see what you are talking about.
