I am quite shy when it comes to a chat up line, any advice?

Say hi -- as the converstation starts going admit that you are shy that way he knows it was hard for you to start talking. Heck then just talk about anything from the weather to the city you are in, sports.
You are just talking - just know it doesn't have to lead anywhere other than conversation. Also learna coule short jokes in case things get slow. Everyone loves a good funny joke!

Something very simple - don't use those horrible cheesy chat up lines that the straight guys think are wonderful...
Just say 'Hi' ask some easy stuff, maybe offer to buy a drink...find out if you have anything in common - get him to talk about himself - if he wants to!

best way might be at the bar when buying a drink just having a genral conversation about the beer or summing. Alot of blokes will go therre with friends so kinda choose the ones that are on there own or keep looking at you.
If you start the conversation I am sure they will carry on with it.

Most bars are WAY too loud to talk in. If he's really interesting offer to buy him a coffee away from the bar.
Gives you a chance to really talk.

Umm... How about starting with, "Hi." And then maybe follow up with a, "How are you?" Then hopefully a converstaion will just progress along those lines.

"Look! My mobile phone is much smaller than yours! Oh, that's not your mobile?" Second thoughts, you might just get slapped for that. Just make eye contact, smile and ask how his night is going. Just don't try it on with his boyfriend!

Just go sit by him (if he's alone) and say "hi my name is "whatever your name is" and let him reply! aww, you're an irish guy too?! Irish guys are hot! You shouldnt have a problem!!
