I have a quick question for those that already have children or are further along in their pregnancy. For those that found out the sex of the child before birth, How soon before where you able to find out? Did it change, meaning did the doctor tell you boy and later told you a girl? For the ones that found out early, how early were you able to find out and did you end up having what the doctor initially told you?

I wanted to know what I was having just as soon as I found out I was pregnant. Because my baby was breach sitting butt down, I was 8 months pregnant when the doctor was actually able to see what it was, a boy. Now my gut feeling the whole time I was pregnant was I was carrying a girl, but my gut was wrong. I had a beautiful boy almost 11 years ago.

My doctors were correct about both my children's sex. I found out right around fourteen weeks. There were guesses with the heart rate, but both of my children had fast heart rates (I had a girl and then a boy). There have been people in my family who have been told wrong though. One aunt was told she was having a girl and he was a boy, while my cousin was told she was having a boy and she was a girl. I think it is nice to know what the sex is so that planning can be done, but there is always the risk that what the doctor thinks he or she sees isn't accurate. Good Luck.

i didn't find out the sex of my baby, and honestly, it was the greatest surprise I ever got besides finding out I was pregnant. Everyone said I would have a girl, but i had a boy! It's really not that hard having the baby room in neutral -and adding a little color once the baby is born isn't too tough... I chose the Classic Pooh bedding for our nursery, and then added a little blue later. As for clothing, I needed much larger things than that-high chairs, diapers, car seat, etc. if ppl bought clothes, it was white, yellow or green-we only had some clothes in the beginning, and once he was born, everyone bought more for him. I'd do this all over again, because you don't get many surprises in life as it is, so why not, it's such a blessing!

My husband's Dad when he had another found out- and they told them a girl, but ended up being a boy! ooopps! their doctors said a girl all along. One reason adding to why I wouldn't want to find out!

They can usually tell you by 20 weeks what you are having though.

we found out at 20 weeks that we are having a girl. at 30 weeks we had a 4d ultrasound, 32 weeks another ultrasound and it is still a girl. with my other daughter we found out at 20 weeks and the ultrasound was accurate it was a girl.
when i was born, my mother had an ultrasound and was told it was a boy only to have a girl (me).
i think the ultrasounds are alot more clearer than they were even 3 years ago when i had my other daughter. i can hold up the pic of my older daughter that shows the sex and you can't tell.
with this baby i barely have to look at it to tell. with the 4 d ultrasound it looked like a picture you or i would take. it is a really beautiful experience.

ultrasounds as early as 16 weeks can determine the sex of a baby. usually they do an ultrasound around 20 weeks (typically).

We are pretty sure we're having a girl - that's what 3 different ultrasounds have shown us. I have heard of mistakes being made, but usually I've know Dr's to not say anything if they can't definitely see whether it's a girl or boy. Guessing can cause more problems than not guessing at all.

Good luck!

I found out I was having a girl when I was 7 months pregnant.
I thought it was nice, because I talked to her using name before she was born. Also, I was able to fill her dresser up with all the little outfits from her sister. While nothing is infallible, the tests and ultrasounds are pretty accurate now.

I cannot remember exactly when I found out the sex of my third kid (the first two I wanted to be surprises and I had both a boy and a girl) but on the third one I wanted to know, so my OBGYN did a sonogram, and informed me that I was having a girl. We had pink clothes at the hospital and all, when, like magic I gave birth to alittle boy, who still gets teased by his older brother and sister about really being a girl

I am 19 weeks and will go for an ultrasound this week to find out. I have 3 boys and always knew around this time. 18 to 20 weeks. They were always right. My friend found out at 16 weeks and they were right for that also.

I was 25 weeks old when I found out i was having a baby girl.I got the 3-D done.I seen the baby's features and how she was going to look.I have heard so people say that they told them they where having a boy and it turned out that it was a girl. But its more accurate when you do the 3-D its kind of pricey $150.00 but its s worth it.
