The guy at best buy told me that if you disconnect an ipod before the computer tells you to do so, it will damage the ipod. He said he has about 1000 broken ones in the back waiting for repair. He highly recommends the extended warranty. Any Ipod users out there ever hear or experience this problem?

Do what i did, i bought one from maximum suitable purchase that has a greater physically powerful return coverage and then i back the broken one, wheni have been given there i acted like if i became insulted with the aid of fact they bought me an previous used in very very undesirable shape ipod...and threathen with calling and filling a criticism with apple, the entire subject lasted 5 minutes, then i walked out with a sparkling ipod...in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it doesnt end there i've got been given a unfastened improve to the 80gb with the aid of fact they didnt have the 30gb that it became the only i had initially bought!... stable success!

No. If you "corrupt" the software in your iPod Apple has a software download to completely wipe out and start fresh. I think they were just trying to sell you an extended warranty. You can go to the download section for your specific iPod.

well, you have two choice: one :fix it by yourself, two:replace it .
if you choose the first , you can see the repair videos on youtube,
if you choose the second, you may buy the screen from http://www.cshidworld.com , the price is cheaper, and
the service is better.
