I'm pretty sure that earth was not really discovered. Personally, I think we were created by a higher power, but many believe the theory of evolution. Either way, I'm pretty sure that everyone agrees we became on earth, we didn't come to earth.
However, you do pose a question that maybe people have not asked before. Possibly some human form or other life form actually did discover earth...
There is one more answer to your question, and it is simply settlers. This is an answer to how Earth, TX was discovered though. Happy hunting.

Babies discover Earth as soon as they get old enough to fall over or take some notice of their surroundings. So everyone discovers Earth their own way.

I don't believe the earth HAS been discovered. In order for something to be a discovery - it has to be found for the first time.
We are natural inhabitants of this planet - while we are not the earth itself - we are inseparable from it - this is our natural home....can one discover ones own natural home? I don't think so.
Perhaps, however, earth HAS been discovered by some being not FROM earth. Just as we have "discovered" planets in other solar systems - perhaps there is some intelligent life form that we are totally unaware of who has "discovered" our planet.

Earth? Oh, how quaint! You actually mean Klaatuia; that's the proper name for it, as all serious glactic cartographers agree.
It was discovered by the great, noble emissary Klaatu in Galactic Year 8,675,309 (quaintly called "1951" by a large number of its inhabitants).
Earth. Puh-leez. No one but the savages who live there call it that - and not even all of those. They can't agree on anything, or get along. The Galactic Protectorate should teach them civilized customs and beliefs, and put an end to their bickering and superstitions.

Hi. Not really a dumb question. Ancient man may not have even thought about it because no one could explore much on foot in a single lifetime. I would bet that even the first girl to think about it had no way to pass on the thought to future generations. So I think it was discovered many times in the past.

earth wasn't discovered it was made by God who then made humans(Adam and Eve). The earth wasn't discovered by humans because we were made on it. Look in the Bible, you'll see God made the land and the sea, the light and the dark, etc.
