you need a new heating element!

It might be the heating element. Call the manufacturer or better yet look for their website under FAQ's, see if there is a replacement part or if they recommend something. If they suggest a repair man, then try calling a home improvement store to see if they recommend a part.

If it is a gas dryer try replacing the heating element

Check for a red reset button on the back, this trips out when there is a danger of overheating and must be pressed.
Failing that the element has probably blown.

the thermostat mine goes all the time I have found since buying the Hotpoint condenser dryer it goes more often than my old one.
Make sure you say you need thermostat to the repair man if not insured as the can rip you off and the thermostat isn't expensive to buy good luck

Possibly the heating elements have failed or one of the TOC's (Thermal overload Cut out's ), these are usually situated in series with the elements, or in the exhaust sensor circuits, and can usually be replaced independantly.

Could be .... thermostat, a relay, a switch, the elements. Anything really, best buy a new dryer.

I'v had this happen twice and both times it was the little thermo switch that controls the element , only a couple of quid to put right .

Is it a gas or an electric dryer. If it's a gas, check to make sure that the pilot light is on.

Your heating element has burned out. You can call a repair man and he can take care of it or you can do the DYI thing. I replaced mine by myself. It's really easy and relatively inexpensive. I think my element was less than twenty bucks.

Or the heating element might be damaged or a fuse blown.
