I have a 8 month old daughter and would like to get pregnant again sometime after her 1st birthday. How long does the pill stay in your system? I've only been on it for 8 months (since my daughter was born)

I have known people who got pregnant from missing one pill on accident. I have also known people who were off of it for 2 or 3 years before conceiving. It just depends on you. Pregnancy isn't an exact science. If it is meant to happen it will happen.

There's no real answer for this. Each women is different. It can be anywhere from one month to 3 years or more. I've been off the pill for 2 years 2 months and have not had any success but I have a friend that got pregnant one month off the pill.

It can be as early as the next month or longer. If you had no problem concieving last time and only a year on the pill it should happen the 1st month or 2 you are off of them, (if you are on a mini pill or low estrogen pill due to nursing etc., it can be as fast as 2 days after last pil given you are fertille then. Unless you want to risk getting pregnant earlier than intended, stay on it right up until the time you're ready to try. Many women get pregnant in their first cycle off the pill. I could also take 3 months or 6 months or a year; there's just no way to tell how your individual body and cycle are going to react to coming off birth control.

I had been on the pill 10+ years. About a week or so after I stopped taking my pills, I got pregnant. It just must've been time.

I got pregnant the week after I stopped taking the pill. But I am sure it is different with everyone.

some people say it takes up to one year---my sister got off the pill and got pregnant 4 months later---my first prengancy i got pregnant while on the pill i think everyone is different depending on how fertile u are---I think the usual is anywhere from 2 months to one year.

I'm sure it's different for everyone, my wife's cycle was messed up after we had our baby and we got off the pill to let her get normal and bang we're due in January, so if you aren't on it you can get pregnant.

I got preggo while on the pill-had been on it for 5 yrs if that says anything- i think anything is possible, and it might not take that long at all!
