I found out 2 weeks ago that I was pregnant then 2 days later was in the ER with period like bleeding that only lasted 1.5 days. Was told that I was having a threatened miscarriage. The dr said that he was really concerned that my hcg was only 16.4. and to go have it test 2 days later and it was then 39.1 went to the Dr he stated that he wanted to test it again 2 days after the last and it was 87.1. I am now supposed to be 5w5d pregnant and had an tv ultasound today and they stated that there was no evidance of pregnancy in the uterus or tubes. The dr then sent me for another hcg and I am waiting for the results. I have had no more bleeding than the one day I went to the ER is it still possible that I misscarried and that my HcG still was going up? Or is it too early to see anything on an ultrasound? has this happened to anyone else? I am driving my self crazy wondering if I am still pregnant or not!

hi

it depends on how far gone u are, im sorry to say it looks like u have miscarried but it could be wrong and u may still be pregnant

it happened to me last year and i lost the baby but until a couple of weeks ago i thought i lost just one baby but i lost twins, even though HcG was still goin up will do for a couple of days as ur body has to get used to losing your baby, try not to think its ur fault if it comes back u have lost the baby as i did that and i ended up losing loads of weigh and being very ill,

i wish best of luck and hope u dont have to same results i did
good luck and best wishes x

unfortunatly the ultrasound is probably more reliable than the blood tests. Normally your hormones won't jump up like they did unless you are still pregnant, but it is possible you lost the baby after your last test, or your body had not recognized the loss yet. On that note, however, ultrasounds can be wrong, if your hormone levels continue to rise, there is a good chance you may still be pregnant, five weeks is very very early for an ultrasound, many women don't even know they are pregnant at that time.

I have NEVER heard of this sort or Phenomenon. Might I suggest that you request a SONOGRAM instead of an ultrasound. They use a probe like instrument that goes INSIDE instead of scanning the ouside of the tummy... This gives better view of fetuses in the womb, they are much more sensitive than Ultrasound. I had to have one done at 7 weeks and saw the baby just fine, only it looked like a peanut instead of a baby, which is normal.

That is pretty strange but at alomost 6 weeks they would be able to see the gestational sac at least. However, your hcg levels would not continue to go up. It is hard to tell...Good Luck

When the doc did the ultrasound, did he do a transvaginal one?
