TABLE MOUNTAIN is on the West Cape of South Africa overlooking Cape Town. It is flanked by Devil's Peak to the East and Lion's Head and Signal Hill to the North. Table Mountain is named for its flat top and is often covered with cloud forming the table cloth. It's highest point is 1,086 metres above sea level, and from side to side is about 3 kms. in width. There are various tourist attractions on or near the mountain. It was at one time known as the Cape of Good Hope.
