I am currently bidding out projects, I wanted to get an idea of what a basic slab would cost. approx 1300 sq ft. What should I expect?

well lets see - what type of concrete - what type of finish - HOW THICK ! - what type of base / is site prep done - is it a level slab or does the perimeter go below frost line ( getting the point here ? )

the only way to get a cost is what you did - ask for bids ( even something as minor as how much work is going on nearby can affect the price - sometimes they can do your pour with another job and save )

I don't do work in San Diego. But here is my best budget figure. 1300 sqft x 4" is 16 cy That is a big area. I would guess starting about $8,000 for the most basic and easiest area. You got to consider access soil conditions etc also. If you get three prices you should be fine.

Like everything else in San Diego,,,,, it will not be cheap. Get three estimates from "reputable" companies and go from there.
