Please tell me that they don't!! Not only was the series a dud but having to listen to Joe Buck and Tim McCraver almost made me become a cricket fan!! (UGH!!!) Whatever happened to the days of NBC and Bob Costa and real announcers?? Actually, if not for Joe Morgan, I'd rather see ABC and ESPN do the playoffs. Joe Morgan gives me gas!!!

Fox sports has the most innovative, cutting edge cameras for sporting events that I have ever seen. True Buck and McCarver are pompous bores, but the Fox cameras make up for the lack of zeal from the sportscasting booth. And to answer your question, yes, Fox will air the playoff rounds and the World Series, except for the first rounds. That goes to TBS.

I don't love Joe Buck & Tim McCarver but I hate Bob Costas. I agree with you on Joe Morgan, I tend to mute the TV when he's calling a game. And yes, FOX will still have playoff games next year including one Championship Series and the World Series.
TBS is getting some games next year and I am hoping that they don't use the Braves announcers because they are the absolute worse (along with Michael Kay & John Sterling - Yankees TV & Radio announcers).

On 7/11/06 SI wrote this article

Major League Baseball has reached a new seven-year TV deal with Fox, baseball executives told SI.com on Tuesday morning.

The new agreement, which was scheduled to be announced at 5:30 p.m. today by commissioner Bud Selig, will guarantee baseball more than the $400 million it received from the network's previous contract, which expires after this season.

According to the new deal, Fox will air the World Series, the All-Star Game, a schedule of Saturday games and one League Championship Series each year, alternating between the leagues from year to year. The other League Championship Series is still up for bids.

Also, TBS is expected to get rights to the Division Series starting in 2007 and weekly regular-season games in '08.

Amen! Joe Buck flew in on the coat tails of his late great father Jack Buck. Tim McCraver wasn't even a good catcher. His claim to fame is a world series MVP in '64 and became Steve Carlton's personal catcher with the Phillies. He talks the game like he's a HOFer but ends up boring everyone to death with over kill. Joe Morgan is the same. His problem is that he is so out of touch with the game and the players, often he doesn't know the players names when he should. Pretty poor. I don't know what the answer is but something needs to be done. Personally I wish Harry Kalas (voice of the Philadelphia Phillies) could do every game. Now there is a great play by play man.

I couldn't agree with you more, those 2 idiots had no clue. I can't remember how many times they screwed up the Tiger's players names.. how stupid can you be? I know the players better than either of them.. They should let the local announcers do it.. Fox Sports Detroit and Fox Sports St. Louis (or what ever city they're in)..Joe Buck and Timmy McCarver did a crappy job.. and they need to get rid of the female reporter, she added nothing to it at all.. not sexist, just a realist. There are good female sports reporters/announcers.. she wasn't one of those.

i understand that this could in all probability never happen, yet i think of that an incredible thank you to temper those enormous contracts are to cause them to incentive based contracts. i think of it relatively is time we made those adult men relatively earn their money. i think of that as quickly as you go the $50 million mark communities must be allowed to characteristic incentives that gamers would desire to realize with a view to EARN something of their money. Take Barry Zito to illustrate. If his settlement replaced into incentive based, he could relatively get much less pay than what he gets good now.
