My jimmy ran out of gas, luckily in my driveway. So I went and got more gas put it in the truck the fuel gauge went up but ever since it ran out it wont start, when you turn the key it doesnt even turn over. Checked the fuses and they are fine, and it doesnt seem that any wires are loose on the starter. Does anyone have any idea what is wrong with my truck please help.

I am sure it ran out of gas, and the battery is fully charged.

Are you sure the battery is fully charged? If it is not you could have set the theft control off. If that happened all you have to do is simply charge the battery lock and unlock the car with the remote three times then try to start it. If you don't have a working remote lock and unlock the drivers door three times. If that does not work I would take it to the dealer.

If the interior light doesn't dim when you turn the key it's not the battery or battery cables. Some fuel pumps overheat when you run out of gas, but that wouldn't keep the engine from turning over when you turn the key.
Somebody familiar with a voltmeter needs to poke around to see what's wrong. You can learn to use one in five minutes. And you'll look really cool troubleshooting stuff like this.

If your Engine does not turn over, You should check your battery first. Easy test. Turn on your headligts and try to crank the engine over. If the headlights dim it could be your battery voltage goind down under load. If you have a voltmeter, it should read 15 volts without a load on the battery and no lower thatn 9 volts when cranking the engine.
Make sure that all connections to the battery are solid. You can check to see if you have a drain on your battery by taking a small 12 volt bulb in series with the hot cable. Remove the hot cable and place the buld on the post and then tough the other connection on the bulb to the cable. It will lightis there is any drain on your battery.

Are you sure you ran out of gas? With that ellectrical problem, the fuel guage can`t be trusted As for the ellec. problem, you will have to check all the fuseable links. They may look OK so you`ll need at least a test light, and/ or a multimeter to test continuity. The links themselves are usually brown or off white and the insulating material is softer than regular wiring. I`m assuming your battery is fully charged.
