I got bashed so much by readers, mostly bisexuals and homosexuals because I asked why the content of the Bible on homosexuality or sexual immorality (as the Bible puts it) is ignored by society. I don't hate or dislike non-heterosexuals. I love everyone the same. I have friends that are homosexuals AND bisexuals. I do not judge them, because I don't have that right. But, why am I judged for voicing my opinion because I don't believe in Same Sex Marriage? That doesn't mean that I like them any less, I just don't agree with it. I feel a lot of hate coming from these readers. Doesn't homosexuality stand up for peace and to "love" each other? Why did I get insulted with profanity and insults as if that's a good way to stand up for homosexuality? I don't think all people are the same, so I do believe that it was ignorance that overwhelmed a lot of those readers.

Kelly Jean: I believe that the subject on the question is FOR society, and homosexuals. You also answered in a manner that didn't seem calm at all in the other question. I NEVER said that HOMOSEXUALS are the root of society's problems. Please.

You're all sad. Oh well, I don't really care that much. Bunch of hypocrites... "Don't express your opinion, don't expect us to accept your beliefs, but change the laws so penis and penis can meet." Nice going.

you got insulted because you did judge us as being imoral and hedonistic. Wheather you think your questions was neutral or not your bias shown through loud and clear to most of us.
this sweetness and light attitude and phrasing of this question doesnt belie the fact that you still think we are going to hell because of the way God made us.

I ALSO answered your question honestly. I disagree with you 100% about what you believe the Bible says on this matter. In addition, it isn't ignored by society; many, many states have passed constitutional amendments to not allow same sex marriage.
And the point is that this is the LGBT forum, as some people have pointed out. People here will be disagreeing with your point of view. Maybe you posted your question with good intentions, but you probably ALSO don't realize that there have been thousands of postings here lately which have been nothing but gay bashing. And your previous question had many of the same attributes as those postings. Essentially, no matter what you believe, you should not come on this forum and demean the people for whom this forum is intended. And coming on here, calling them sinners or sexually immoral (which I question the validity, to begin with) can definitely lead to the types of responses you get. I would expect the same kind of response from the people in the religion and spirituality forum if I went on there challenging their beliefs, in fact, I have seen that in some of the postings there.
My main problem is that you came on here implying that something is fact, when it is only your opinion.
You certainly are welcome to post here, but I think that maybe your choice of question and the wording was very poorly stated, prompting the responses you got. But as for me, I try to take all questions seriously, and give the person asking them the benefit of the doubt.

To answer your original question: society doesn't honor the content of the Bible because
1)Many different sects of christianity interpret the Bible in many different ways. There is not a commonly concieved consensus on ANYTHING, much less homosexuality which is mentioned VERY rarely (I think it was twice?).
2)Quite simply, we don't live in a theocracy. Even if Christianity were unified on this one, it doesn't matter. I have a right to not be a Christian in this country, and to therefore not be bound by Christian hangups. For something to be passed into law, it needs secular reasoning. And I thank the founding fathers for that every day.
If you don't believe in same-sex marriage, then fine. Don't believe in it. But keep your opinions out of the realm of inflicting your opinions into law to affect the lives of others. Don't like same sex marriage? Don't have one.

The sanctity of marriage is no more. People like Brittany spears who get married and in 48 hrs has it annulled. Liz Taylor has been married like 8 times, where are the values there. I hate to say this but most people do not treat marriage as a sacred thing. So why push morals when majority of the people do even follow them. People who say same-sex marriage should not be allowed are setting up a double standard, st8 people can get married and treat it as a joke and have respect for it, but don't let gays marry because it will ruin the sanctity of the marriage and family values.

The reason is because you don't like the idea of same sex marraige for religous reasons and not since The Crusades has the church SUPPOSE TO be able to influence law.
Marraige is not a strictly religous act and should not be banned for what sex you are. Marraige is about love not a penis and a vagina.

You are coming to a gay forum and posting an anti gay question. What do you expect? Do you expect gay people to agree with you that they are immoral because of their sexual orientation? I think your intention was to get just the type of response you did. I think it makes you feel better to tell people how immoral and wrong they are, because it makes you feel better about yourself. You apparently have some issues you need to work through.
I also think you are lying about having gay friends. No self-respecting gay person could be friends with someone who thinks the way you do. Or maybe you don't tell them you think they're wrong?
Don't try to play the victim. You know exactly what you're doing.

in your first question you referenced the coruption of kids and said we were the bad influance on them. all we want is equal rights. and all i said was that we do not corupt societies kids. people do wether straight or gay, but being homoesxual has no bearing on it. when people throw the bible in our face we react due to the fact that 99% of the time someone brings up religion its done in a bashing way. like i sad in my reply to your second question we are use to being bashed and we react in that fashion because we are under a constant assult from bashers. we dont instigate it. if i over reacted to your question i appologise. all i want is to have the right to marry. im a pre-op transsexual and even after surgery im going to be descriminated against because they will not approve marriage even post op in my state. if gays can legaly marry id be allowed also. society treats us like we are the lowest life form on the planet. in some ways its even worst than in the days of segregation. i hope you can see why we need the same rights as hetro couples.
we will not be runining the sanctity of marriage. i think the divorce rate and all the cheating has done that already

individuals are relatively rapid to spout off approximately the way it relatively is like evaluating "apples to oranges." How ironic, once you communicate approximately that although issues are turning out to be greater effective for interracial couples, there are nonetheless some areas of the country the place issues nonetheless have not replaced all that plenty. So why ought to we nonetheless be shocked that gay rights continues to be a purple-warm challenge, as quickly as we nonetheless as an entire have not relatively dealt with the challenge of race? And BTW, Marc E. needs to bypass lower back and crack some Black history books. confident, non-white races have been subjected to oppression and brutality on a scale that replaced into magnificent, yet lest we forget approximately, there have been additionally slave-proprietors and sellers and procurers who have been additionally no longer white. So ease off of your severe horse there, bruddah.

It's hard to tell the difference between someone who uses biblical testimony to validate their hate and someone who uses biblical testimony to pursue the same goals as a hater without being one. Especially when both demand more respect for their views than they give to the other side; it creates a sort of feedback loop, causing more disrespect from the other side.

Then why would you ask a question like that in a forum like this where you know the kind of responses that you're going to get? Perhaps ask straight people why they're so afraid of us having the same rights as they do when it comes to committing our lives to another person. As far as whether or not we all stand up and preach peace and love, please! We're all different. The peace and love thing comes from your bible, though, doesn't it?
And, please confirm your email or just email me. . .I'd love to continue this conversation.

The content of the Bible is Ignored because not everyone believes in the Bible, it has no place in the lives of anyone other than it's followers.
That was not the only "opinion" you voiced or did you forget your other "slippery slope" arguments? Your "opinion" was an attack, pure and simple and you deserved everything that you got.
