gear was not on the center section and my problem is that i have is i dont know how many clutches go on either side of the center section

if it has clutch plates inside the center section it is
a "posi" unit. hopefully this hasn't been taken apart. if you are talking about the shims used to set the back lash on the ring and pinion that are located on either side of the carrier, then
it depends. if you've never set up a rear end before it will be kinda hard to tell you how here.
i'll wait for you to add some more info and i'll try to help.

well depends on the rear end and im sure you dont have any numbers. a proper breakdown would show you how many clutch plates you are spose to have. local library will have some information. sorry i cant help more

I t takes skill and know-how to set up differentials. you will never get it right with out help from a tech with expertise in this field.

one of those find someone who knows how to help and show you -wont ever turn out right without someone who allready knows-fixed about ten my baby bro thought he knew how
