Does this sound like a good idea for a book?

Question

Ok, so in the story, the main character dies and finds themselves in a place that they think is probably hell. They meet up with some other characters and each have to go through trials and tribulations that make them fake their own inner demons. Ok so basically in the end they are let out of what seems like a long maze, find themselves on a completely different planet with a chance to start over.
Thats just the basic idea, I got it from reading a modern adaptation of Dante's Inferno. So tell me what you think, give me some ideas, change parts of it if you like.

the idea is ok...but it all depend on your style of writing and some other things like how you are gonna tell the story. so idea is ok, but it doesn't mean that the book will rock

sounds bizarre, but so is Dante's inferno. I think anything can be a good story if one uses the right words and puts enough feeling into it.

you lost me on the part that said "...trials and tribulations that make them FAKE their own inner demons" Fake? Don't get that part.

it sounds like a good idea on the surface but there needs to be more info about it, like what each of the characters was like before they died and how they died.....just simple things like that

hey, that's cool. but to fool inner demons.....what does that mean?
just elaborate on how thety reached that 'hell' . all in all, quite cool
