21 times in one month? Or over 2 years?

If you have only tried for one month and you had intercourse 21 times could be that you did not ovulate that month! Most females do not ovulate 2 out of 12 months. They will have their regular menstrual cycle without an egg being released.

The first thing you need to do for planning a baby is figure out your cycle. Are you regular? What is the length? and then figure out when you should be ovulating during that month. Usually this occurs 14 days before your next expected menstrual period.

I added a link that can help you figure out when you ovulate if you have a rather regular cycle.

Some females will ovulate earlier or later and so this method could be off by a few days to even a week! Another idea is that is cheap is checking basal body temperature. I added a link on this also. This can be rather time consuming and can take a few months to get used to.

Also, you can check your cervical mucus. It will change as you get closer to your ovulation date. Added is a link on how to check for this.

There are even kits that you can buy cleverly named Ovulation prediction kits.. They usually come in sticks of 5 to 7 that you use urinate on like home pregnancy tests. Once you get a positive from these test an egg is usually released 24 to 48 hours. These tests can be expensive if on a fixed income. I have found some on ebay that are just as good as the store bought but much cheaper and just as effective!

When you find out when you should be ovulating the best times to get pregnant are the few days leading up to ovulation, the day of and the day after. Sperm can live from 3 to 5 days and the egg about 24 hours.

Getting pregnant can take time. It doesn't mean there is anything wrong with you or your husband. If you have tried with the methods above for a year and still nothing I would consult a professional.

Good luck! from one TTC to another.

Heather, to get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

You've only had sex 21 times in two years?!? Seriously?? Wow. You gotta start having more sex, every month when you are ovulating. And I'm sure it'll make your husband a little happier than when he gets it less than once a month.

Well it really doesn't matter how many times you and your husband have sex. You need to time it perfectly, maybe you aren't doing it when you are ovulating. Have you tried doing your bbt temps or using an ovulation predictor kit or even a fertility monitor. That might be something to think about.

Your probably doing it too much and too often. There is less sperm when you do it more often. Try to do it the day before and the day after ovulation.
