-8x+12=-8x+5
no solution for x, because there is no value of x will satisfy the equation.

-4(2x - 3) = -8x + 5
-8x + 12 = -8x + 5
you distribute the -4 to each number in the parentheses
-8x + 8x = 5 -12
bring the -8x over to the left so it becomes positive, then take 12 over to right so it turns negative
0 = -7
x has no solution cuz -8x and 8x cancel each other out

x = no solution

-4(2x-3)= -8x +5
-8x +12= -8x +5
taking like terms to one side of the equation we get
-8x+8x= 5-12
0=-7
thatz not true..
so no solution

Distribute the left side. Get rid of x-es on one side or the other by adding the opposite (or negative). On the opposite side, subtract the constant. You should get one of two things:

a. 3x=12
b. 0=11
c. 0=0

...or something similar to the above.

If you got a, divide by the co-effecient of x. If you got b, there is no solution. If c, then everything is a solution.
