I'm planning to do some family planning and want to get a hand on when I'm ovulating now, so I can see where its going to go once I go off the pill. Problem is I don't know if they work accurately while you're taking the pill, with all the added hormones.

Here's the thing, everyone says you don't ovulate when on the pill, that being said, why do you have a period. If your body "thinks its preg." Its my understanding that the pill prevents implantation. If this is incorrect then I have a whole lot of extra eggs b/c I've been on the pill for a LONG time.

OK THATS A LIE U DO OVULATE WHEN ON THE PILL THE PILL CAUSES THE FLUID IN YOUR VAGINA AND UTERUS TO GET ACIDIC AND THAT KILLS THE SPERM AND DISSOLVES THE EGG FASTER IF YOUR BODY THOUGHT IT WAS PREGNANT WHEN ON THE PILL THEN U WOULDNT GET UR PERIOD DUMBOS

and even if the sperm get to the egg in enough time the endometrium lining will prevent the egg from attaching itself to it

sorry i really dont kno the answer to your question but since u do ovulate then i think you should ask your doc or the pharmacist

you don't ovulate when you're on the pill. the reason why you still have a period is because the uterine lining still builds up every month preparing for a pregnancy (making a cushy lining for a fertilized egg to implant)...when you go on your inactive pills is when you "shed" your lining for that month.

you'll be able to start using your ovulation predictor once you get off the pill IF you start ovulating right away...some people's bodies take a few months to get back into the swing of things.

there's no such thing as a bunch of extra eggs. we don't ovulate enough times in our lives to get rid of all the eggs we were each born with.

BC pills prevent you from ovulating so an ovulation test won't give accurate results.

It will not show anything as you don't ovulate on the pill. I suppose it's possible as I know someone who got pregnant on the pill but it's not common.
