The answers given are correct but remember that the square root of 7 is an irrational number. We don't know about the context of your question so the answer could well require you to leave it as a surd - sq. rt of 7. If it appears as a denominator you could be required to rationalise the expression.

The answer is irrational.
You can either say root 7, which is accurate, or you can use some estimate for it, which a calculator (or above poster) has given you. Those are _all_ estimates though.

here's a nice way to fiddle a result
use the iteration formula
x1=1,x(n+1)=(1/2)(xn+7/xn) for n=1,2,3,...........
x2=(1/2)(1+7/1)=4
x3=(1/2)(4+7/4)=2.875
x4=(1/2)(2.875+7/2.875)=2.654891304
x5=(1/2)( 2.655+7/2.655)=2.646
x6=(1/2)(2.646+7/2.646)=2.645751323
x7=(1/2)(2.645751323
+7/2.645751323)
=2.645751311
